1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DollarFI, a personal finance tracking application operated by The FI Couple LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. DollarFI is not a financial institution. It does not hold funds, execute transactions, or provide regulated financial services of any kind.
2. Not Financial Advice
Nothing in DollarFI constitutes financial, investment, real estate, tax, or legal advice. The FI Couple LLC, and Ali and Josh Lupo, are not financial professionals, financial advisors, portfolio managers, or accountants. The calculations and insights shown in the App — including net worth, savings rate, spending trends, budget coverage, and any AI-generated "Freedom Intelligence" insights — are summaries and educational illustrations based on data you have entered or connected. They are provided for informational and educational purposes ONLY, and do not guarantee any result. AI-generated insights can be incomplete or wrong; always verify them and use your own judgment. You are responsible for doing your own research and consulting a qualified professional before making any financial decision. We expressly disclaim any liability for decisions made in reliance on information displayed in the App.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
To use DollarFI, you must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater), provide accurate registration information, and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity under your account. Do not share your account or create accounts for others without their consent. 4. Subscriptions & Payment
DollarFI offers an optional paid membership (the HelloFI community and bank-sync features). Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through the App Store (Apple In-App Purchase) on iOS, or through Stripe on the web, at the price and interval disclosed at purchase. A free trial, if offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time — on iOS through your Apple subscriptions settings, and on the web through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period except where required by law.
5. Your Data & Bank Connections
All financial data you enter is yours; we do not claim ownership of it. The App displays the data you enter or sync — we are not responsible for inaccuracies in data you enter or data returned by a financial institution. Paid users may connect financial institutions (via Plaid) to sync transactions. You authorize this connection and may disconnect at any time. We recommend keeping your own records of important financial information; we are not liable for data loss due to technical failures.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the App: no attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering, scraping, overloading our systems, uploading malicious code, or using the App for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the App. Deletion is permanent and removes your data from our systems within 30 days, including disconnecting any linked financial institutions. We cannot recover deleted accounts.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and content, is owned by The FI Couple LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services to function, including Google Firebase (authentication and data storage), Plaid (bank connectivity), Anthropic (AI-generated insights), Stripe and RevenueCat (subscription payments), and PostHog and Sentry (analytics and crash reporting). Your use of the App is also subject to these providers' terms. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The FI Couple LLC and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses — arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. If you have not paid us anything, our liability is limited to $100 USD.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The FI Couple LLC and its owners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved through confidential binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules, conducted in Florida, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court for actual or threatened infringement of our intellectual property. You and we waive any right to a jury trial.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
