Overview
DollarFI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the DollarFI mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Account Types
DollarFI offers two account tiers: • Free Account — manually enter income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and goals to track your financial picture. • Paid Account — includes all Free features plus the ability to connect your bank accounts and financial institutions to automatically sync and track transactions. Bank sync functionality is only available to users on a paid plan and requires your explicit consent before any connection is established.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide (All Users): • Email address and password (used for authentication) • First and last name • Financial data you manually enter, including income streams, expenses, assets, liabilities, and goals Financial Institution Data (Paid Users Only): If you connect a bank account or financial institution, we collect: • Account names, types, and balances • Transaction history, including amounts, dates, merchants, and categories • Institution names and account identifiers This data is retrieved through a secure third-party financial data provider. We do not store your bank login credentials. Credentials are entered directly into the financial data provider's secure interface and are never transmitted to or stored by DollarFI. Usage & Diagnostic Data (All Users): To operate and improve the App, we collect limited product-analytics events (e.g., which screens and features are used) via PostHog, and crash/error reports via Sentry. This data is used only to keep the App working and make it better — it is not sold, and is not used for third-party advertising. We do not collect precise location data or use advertising SDKs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to: • Create and manage your DollarFI account • Display your financial data within the App • Sync and categorize bank transactions (paid users only) • Calculate insights such as net worth, income, spending, and FI Health Score • Improve the App's functionality and user experience We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Bank Account Connection (Paid Users)
For paid users who choose to connect financial institutions: • You authorize DollarFI to retrieve account and transaction data on your behalf through our financial data provider. • You may disconnect any linked account at any time from within the App. • Upon disconnection, we will cease retrieving new data from that institution. • Transaction history synced prior to disconnection will remain in the App unless you delete it manually or delete your account. We use industry-standard financial data providers subject to their own privacy and security policies. By connecting a financial institution, you also agree to the financial data provider's terms of service and privacy policy.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service. Firebase enforces industry-standard security including: • Encryption in transit (TLS) • Encryption at rest • Authentication-based access controls — only you can access your data While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data — including any synced transaction history — will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
7. Third-Party Services
DollarFI uses the following third-party services to operate the App. Each processes only the data needed for its function, under its own privacy policy: • Google Firebase — authentication and cloud database (firebase.google.com/support/privacy) • Plaid — secure bank connectivity for paid users (plaid.com/legal) • Anthropic (Claude) — powers the AI-generated financial insights ("Freedom Intelligence"); your financial summary may be sent to generate insights (anthropic.com/legal/privacy) • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions (stripe.com/privacy) • RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions on iOS (revenuecat.com/privacy) • PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics, to understand feature usage and improve the App (posthog.com/privacy) • Sentry — crash and error reporting (sentry.io/privacy) • Expo / React Native — mobile application framework (expo.dev/privacy) These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs and do not sell your data.
8. Children's Privacy
DollarFI is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to: • Access the personal information we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Disconnect linked financial institutions at any time • Request deletion of your account and all associated data • Export your data To exercise any of these rights, email info@theficouple.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to correct it. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. EEA/UK residents (GDPR): Where applicable, our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (operating the App), your consent (e.g., connecting a bank), and our legitimate interests (securing and improving the App). You may access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you through the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
